Gerber Collision & Glass in Jackson, Michigan, seeks an experienced auto body repair technician to plan repairs, estimate costs, and restore vehicles using cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers, and pliers. You will realign chassis, replace parts, weld and repaint to factory specs, and verify work within time guidelines.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent or technical training, plus a 3-year apprenticeship or tech program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan repairs and prepare customer cost estimates.
• Repair body damage using cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers and pliers.
• Realign chassis, replace parts and weld/paint to factory specs.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspect finished vehicles.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
