Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Autistic Support Aide (FT) to support students with IEPs in both special and general education settings. You will assist teachers with IEP implementation and help students access the general curriculum.

This full-time para-educator role requires meeting state qualification standards (associate degree or 48 college credits or a valid state certification within 12 months). Positions available at New Salem Elementary and Spring Grove Elementary.

Qualifications

• Hold an associate degree, have completed at least 48 post-secondary college credits, or possess a valid state certification within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing individual and group strategies for student success in academics and behavior.
• Maintain up-to-date records describing strategies for each child's program.
• Participate in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
• Collaborate with teachers to modify programs to meet student needs.
• Assist in classroom activities such as listening to students read and monitoring work sessions.
• Assist in evaluating student performance.
• Serve as a liaison between general and special education teachers for feedback.
• Maintain Highly Qualified status with required PD hours.
• Perform duties as assigned by teacher or administrator.
