Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education to support students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center-based settings. This full-time role involves assisting instruction, behavior management and monitoring student progress in academics and daily living skills.

Starting ASAP, the position requires a high school diploma, CAA/PCA certification within 30 days, and relevant coursework or credentials. Insurance benefits are provided for positions of 6+ hours per day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; PCA certification due within 30 days.
• 60 credits (semester) or 90 quarter credits or an associate degree, or ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and manage physical tasks.
• Must be able to work in the building and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior and redirect or remove disruptive students.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics and daily living skills.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, lifting, positioning and transporting students as needed.
