Job summary

Sylvania is looking for a paraeducator to assist teachers in delivering instruction, working primarily with students. This role includes helping students with academic skills, managing classroom duties, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Qualified candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED and ideally two years of higher education. The salary ranges from $17.00 to $20.75 per hour, plus a $1.00 premium. Benefits include tuition assistance for certification programs and personal leave.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with At-Risk and/or special education students.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to perform duties adhering to district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in the delivery of instruction focusing primarily on the identified student.
• Work with student and/or groups of students on academic skills.
• Engage in non-violent crisis intervention as necessary.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester hours)

Associate's degree or higher
