Job summary

New Story Schools (PA) is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students ages 5-21 with autism and related challenges. You will work with teachers to implement goals, support daily activities, and promote a positive learning environment.

You will help collect data, assist with transitions, and contribute to therapeutic and educational planning under guidance. This role emphasizes collaboration, patience, and consistent support in a school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
