Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Paraeducator Aide II to support students with disabilities in a variety of SPED programs, including EC, SIP, STRATEGIES, etc. Duties include assisting teachers, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and helping with life skills and daily activities.

The role requires handling students with disabilities, following IEPs, and maintaining safety and confidentiality across settings, including classrooms, buses, and field trips.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills.
• Must be able to move students weighing 50-80 pounds daily.
• Ability to follow behavior plans and support IEP goals.
• Licenses/Certificates: CPI Certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in classroom and on buses.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records.
• Record student progress and develop instructional materials and graphs as needed.
• Assist in modifying the general education curriculum and supporting life skills.
