Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator Aide II at North Valleys High School to support students in various SPED programs. The position is for 32.5 hours per week across 180 school days, with responsibilities including mobility assistance, behavior support, and data collection to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires CPI Certification eligibility/possess CPI certification.
• Ability to lift and move students weighing 50–80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in boarding and de-boarding buses before and after school.
• Assist students in reaching proper location in school and accompany them into general education classrooms.
• Provide attendant services and support instruction in life skills and behavior plans as outlined in IEPs.
• Record student progress towards goals and help prepare instructional materials and graphs/charts.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
