Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II in Special Education. Under general supervision, you assist teaching staff with individual and group instruction and help develop and maintain records and instructional materials.

The role supports SPED programs across EC, SIP, IK, STRATEGIES and Life Skills. It requires data collection, behavior management, collaboration with teachers and families, and the ability to adapt materials to student needs.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 sem/60 quarter units or higher, desirably in child development or special education.
• Experience: One year of instructional activities or personal guidance; two years as a paraeducator aide.
• Ability to prepare instructional materials and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson planning and materials preparation.
• Support students individually or in groups with assignments and concepts.
• Administer and grade examinations and homework; monitor progress and refer to teachers.
• Help maintain discipline and classroom order and set up AV equipment.
