Job summary

QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit hiring a Manager for its OPWDD-funded Residential Program. This essential role oversees the residence operation, supervises staff, and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment to foster independence for people we support.

The role requires supervising DSPs and clinicians, implementing behavior goals, coordinating Life Plan meetings, ensuring medical appointments, and collaborating with families and community partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1-2 years’ experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• 1 year OPWDD experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory work experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record for site visits.
• 1-2 years’ experience driving large passenger vehicle required.
• Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
• Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights and 20 lb. items.
• Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of people supported; punctuality and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Create schedules for Direct Support Professionals, Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisors.
• Review residential binders including general, medical, personal allowance, etc.
• Conduct periodic fire drills or other emergency drills.
• Complete and submit injury reports for individuals.
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure documentation and services meet OPWDD guidelines.
• Oversee personal allowance for residents of the program.
• Coordinate and shop for household items and groceries.
• Maintain adequate supply of medication and medication administration records.
