Job summary

Allcare Homecare seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide 2:1 support for an adult client with Autism in a highly structured, community-facing role. The position emphasizes building a positive, respectful rapport and delivering person-centered care.

Ideal candidates have experience with Autism or developmental disabilities, strong communication and teamwork, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn and follow detailed support plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed support plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 2:1 support to a client with Autism.
• Assist with community integration and social activities.
• Build a positive, respectful, and supportive friendship-based rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Work closely with supervisors, family members, and support teams.
• Manage outburst caused by seizure.
