Job summary

Allcare Homecare is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 2:1 support for an adult client with Autism. The role emphasizes building a positive, supportive relationship while engaging actively in the community and following detailed support plans.

The ideal candidate should be energetic, reliable, and able to work as part of a small team, with ongoing training and coaching offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed support plans.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be willing to participate in training and ongoing coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 2:1 support to a client with Autism.
• Assist with community integration and social activities.
• Build a positive, respectful, and supportive friendship-based rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Work closely with supervisors, family members, and support teams.
• Ensure the client's safety, well-being, and dignity at all times.
