Job summary

Allcare Homecare seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 2:1 support for an adult client with Autism. The role is energetic, engaging, and focused on building a positive, supportive relationship within a highly structured environment.

You will follow individualized plans, assist with daily living and community activities, maintain accurate progress notes, and collaborate with supervisors, family members, and the support team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed support plans.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be willing to participate in training and ongoing coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 2:1 support to a client with Autism.
• Assist with community integration and social activities.
• Build a positive, respectful, and supportive friendship-based rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Work closely with supervisors, family members, and support teams.
• Ensure the client’s safety, well-being, and dignity at all times.
