Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL who will act as the technical authority for large, complex customers.

The role emphasizes deep PostgreSQL expertise, migrations from Oracle/SQL Server, and designing scalable production architectures on Aurora and RDS for PostgreSQL. You will partner with customer engineers and CTOs to surface patterns, mentor teams, publish content, and contribute to the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development or cloud infrastructure
• 3+ years in design/consulting in applications and infrastructures
• 10+ years IT development or consulting in software/Internet industries
• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or AWS database services

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor for customers running or migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL
• Guide customers on performance, high availability, monitoring and security best practices
• Design architectures leveraging storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database, and Serverless where applicable
• Collaborate with Aurora service team to surface customer patterns and influence roadmap
• Publish technical content and participate in AWS events and conferences
• Lead migrations from Oracle/SQL Server/on-prem Postgres to Aurora PostgreSQL
• Present at AWS re:Invent and AWS Summits, PGConf and PGDay
• Mentor teammates and develop repeatable frameworks for PostgreSQL engagements
