Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. PostgreSQL Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL in San Francisco. You will be the technical authority guiding customers to architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Aurora and RDS for PostgreSQL.

Focus will be deep on Aurora PostgreSQL with migrations from Oracle/SQL Server/on-premise PostgreSQL. You will mentor teams, publish content, and participate in industry events to advance PostgreSQL engagements globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (software, cloud, systems)
• 3+ years designing or consulting in applications/infrastructure
• 10+ years IT development/consulting experience
• Hands-on with Aurora PostgreSQL or RDS for PostgreSQL
• Led migrations to Aurora as technical owner
• Experience with Aurora features: storage, Global Database, Insights
• Experience scaling PostgreSQL solutions at scale
• Software development experience (Python, Java) and AI tooling familiarity

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor for key customers running or migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL
• Guide customers on operational best practices including performance, HA/DR, monitoring, maintenance, security
• Design and validate architectures leveraging Aurora features (storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database)
• Partner with Aurora service team and surface customer needs for feature improvements
• Engage in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep dives
• Publish technical thought leadership content (blogs, white papers)
• Advise on complex migrations (Oracle, SQL Server, other engines)
• Present at AWS events and customer workshops
• Stay current with PostgreSQL developments and translate to guidance
