Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect focused on Aurora PostgreSQL to architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.

You will partner with customer engineers and CTOs to design well-architected production architectures that endure real-world pressure and align with the team’s strategic roadmap. You will own migrations from Oracle/SQL Server/on-premise Postgres to Aurora, mentor teammates, publish technical

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or significant hands-on time with AWS database services (DMS, SCT).
Led migrations to Aurora as the technical owner.
Experience architecting or operating PostgreSQL solutions at scale (multi-TB databases, thousands of connections, cross-region replication).
Proficiency in software development (Python, Java) and familiarity with AI tooling.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical advisor for key customers running or migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL.
Guide customers on operational best practices including performance, scaling, HA/DR, monitoring, patching, backup and recovery, security.
Design architectures leveraging Aurora features like storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database, and Serverless.
Collaborate with the Aurora service team to surface customer needs and influence roadmap.
Engage in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep-dive design discussions with customer engineers.
