UHY in Houston seeks an Audit Manager to oversee planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements. You will lead teams, ensure high-quality work, and guide client service with strategic insight and risk-focused approaches.

The role requires a CPA license, 5+ years of audit experience in a CPA environment, and leadership capabilities. Expect travel as client needs dictate and opportunities for mentorship and growth within a dynamic firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant audit experience within a CPA firm with leadership.
• CPA license required; IT audit certifications acceptable.
• Maintain minimum CPE credits as required.
• Additional industry certifications may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of audit professionals in planning, executing and concluding engagements.
• Maintain timelines, budgets and firm standards throughout engagements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as primary client contact.
• Develop audit strategies with partners/directors and allocate resources.
• Conduct complex procedures, review workpapers and ensure financial statement integrity.
• Provide guidance on accounting issues and staying current with standards.
• Coach and mentor staff, conduct evaluations and promote growth.
• Ensure quality control and compliance of audit documentation and reports.
• Identify opportunities for business development and client proposals.
