Job summary

UHY LLP in the St. Louis region seeks an Audit Manager to lead audit engagements, guide planning and execution, and drive client service excellence. You will mentor staff, enforce quality controls, and partner with directors to deliver high-quality financial statements across diverse industries.

The role requires CPA certification, 5+ years of audit leadership, and a commitment to professional development and ongoing learning. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of relevant audit experience within a CPA firm with leadership responsibilities.
• CPA license required; equivalent IT audit certifications acceptable.
• Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement.
• Additional industry or specialization certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit teams in planning, executing, and concluding engagements.
• Ensure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm standards.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary contact.
• Develop comprehensive audit strategies with partners and directors.
• Oversee resource allocation and development of audit programs.
• Conduct complex audit procedures and review workpapers for accuracy.
• Provide guidance on accounting and auditing issues.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff and seniors.
• Ensure documentation quality and compliance with standards.
• Identify opportunities to expand client service offerings.
