Job summary

Truist Audit Manager will lead high-risk, complex internal audit engagements, planning test plans with data analytics and allocating resources by skills and schedules to meet budget. The role coaches junior staff and provides candid feedback to elevate performance.

You will deliver meaningful audit reports aligned with Truist's risk appetite framework and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive improvements and risk-informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field or equivalent education and training.
• Six to eight years of banking, auditing or other relevant experience related to area of responsibility.
• Strong knowledge, ability and expertise in audit and other areas of banking and financial services.
• Strong understanding of risk management and process concepts.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to grasp and communicate the underlying concepts in complex information.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate root causes of problems.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate solutions based on a synthesis of information.
• Strong written, verbal and negotiating skills.
• Strong proficiency in computer applications and proven experience with tools such as Microsoft Office software products.
• Strong project management and advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engagement Manager of high risk and more complex audit engagements by planning and scoping test plans; allocate resources accordingly.
• Set quality expectations based on Truist Audit Services standards and review process documentation for effectiveness.
• Develop audit reports aligned with the risk appetite framework and present to stakeholders.
• Identify substantive issues beyond paperwork; propose practical solutions.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
• Demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge to support business partnerships.
• Manage timely delivery of audits, projects and special assignments; advise on new systems and changes to processes and standards.
• Work independently with sound judgment in risk-based assessments of complexity.
