Clair Global is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to diagnose and repair touring audio gear, including mixing consoles, rack processing, and network equipment. You will perform fault isolation, run manufacturer diagnostics, and replace modules while managing warranty claims and RMAs through supplier portals.

The role emphasizes systematic fault finding, service documentation, firmware updates, and post-repair verification.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot methodically and verify faults.
• Ability to read block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists to identify assemblies and replacements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; disassemble and reassemble complex equipment.
• Proficient use of a digital multimeter and standard hand tools.
• Computer proficiency: Windows, diagnostic software, vendor portals, email, and inventory or ticketing systems.
• Basic networking skills to connect devices for diagnostics and firmware updates.
• Clear, accurate written fault documentation and parts used.
• Basic soldering skills for connectors and through-hole components.
• Safe work practices with mains powered equipment and ESD sensitive assemblies.
• Associate degree or certificate in Electronics Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming equipment: confirm faults, run tests, document findings.
• Run manufacturer diagnostic software and self-tests to isolate faults.
• Identify failed modules or assemblies using service docs or inspection.
• Use schematics and parts lists to determine replacement parts and numbers.
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment, track hardware and cabling to factory condition.
• Replace modules, perform firmware updates, and calibration as specified.
• Create and manage service tickets, RMAs, and parts orders through portals.
• Communicate with manufacturer support to resolve faults.
• Perform minor repairs such as connectors, cables, fans, and switches.
• Post-repair verification and burn-in testing before returning equipment.
• Record diagnosis, parts, labor, and outcomes in tracking system.
• Clean equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain spare parts stock and report recurring failures.
