Job summary

Clair Global seeks an electronics technician to diagnose and repair touring audio electronics, including mixers, racks, and power amps. You will isolate faults, run diagnostics, replace modules, and manage warranty/ RMAs with manufacturer portals. Occasional board repair is possible but not primary.

You will read schematics, document faults clearly, and work safely with mains-powered gear. Associate degree or similar training is required, with experience in audio/AV service a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults using documentation and tests.
• Ability to read block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists.
• Proficient with DMM, basic soldering and hand tools.
• Familiar with Windows OS, diagnostic software and service portals.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming equipment, confirm faults, run tests and document findings.
• Run diagnostic software, self-tests, and log readouts on consoles and amplifiers.
• Identify failed modules using service docs or inspection and substitution as needed.
• Use schematics and part lists to determine correct replacement modules/part numbers.
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment, manage cables, and ensure factory condition.
• Replace modules, perform firmware updates, and run calibration routines.
• Create and manage service tickets, RMAs, and parts orders via service portals.
• Communicate with manufacturer support to resolve faults and escalate when needed.
• Perform minor repairs (connectors, cables, fans, switches) and post-repair testing.
• Record diagnosis, parts used, labor, and outcomes in inventory/tracking systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain spare parts inventory.
