Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking a Director, General Management to oversee the Auction operations and drive performance across departments. You will lead with the General Manager, set priorities, manage budgets, and ensure high standards of service and profitability at the location.

You will collaborate with department heads to optimize staffing, safety, and customer relationships while aligning with Cox/Manheim values and corporate goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 15 years of relevant experience in related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of relevant experience in related field and 5 years of leadership experience.
• Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant experience in related field.
• Ph.D and 5 years of relevant experience in related field.
• Strong Sales, Financial and/or Administrative Management background preferred.
• Experience in the automobile or Auction industry.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and interaction skills.
• Effective management, leadership and organizational skills.
• Good computer and software knowledge, AS400 essential.
• Strong customer focus and ability to build relationships internally/externally.
• Effective ability to solve complex problems and make sound, strategic business decisions.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work with General Manager to manage, direct and coordinate the overall operations of the Auction.
• Work with department managers to achieve Auction sales and financial goals and objectives.
• Foster open communication with Auction employees and communicate vision, direction and priorities.
• Develop and implement staffing plans, budgets, KPI targets and performance reviews.
• Lead management of dealer and commercial customer relationships and service levels.
• Coordinate with market level support teams to ensure effective operational processes.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Review work volumes, staffing levels and ensure efficient customer service delivery.
• Promote a safe and secure work environment and enforce policies.
