What You Will Do

Job Summary: Serves as a legal advisor and business partner providing legal advice and assistance on matters related to a health law practice area.

Responsibilities: Serve as a practice area attorney providing legal advice and assistance on matters related to the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line. Attorney responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice, support and counsel to the organization's legal function in support of operational priorities within the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line, including services entities and subsidiaries such as The Resource Group, Medxcel, and various System Office functional areas.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and leading negotiations on contracts for supply chain and services needs.
  • Partnering with Ascension's subsidiary group purchasing organization, The Resource Group, on the negotiation of complex supply chain and services contracts and amendments.
  • Providing interpretive and practical advice regarding oversight and compliance requirements of the business, including applicable state and federal laws.
  • Supporting strategic contracting initiatives, such as outsourcing activities as well as complex enterprise contracts with strategic partners, e.g. TouchPoint, R1 and TriMedx.
  • Supporting and promoting legal initiatives and goals.
  • Keeping current with legal developments affecting the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line and incorporating such information into advice, counsel and support for the organization.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Attorney obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as licensed, practicing attorney required.
