**Responsibilities**

Job Summary:

Serves as a legal advisor and business partner providing legal advice and assistance on matters related to a health law practice area.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a practice area attorney providing legal advice and assistance on matters related to the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line. Attorney responsibilities will include:
  • Providing legal support to the organization's legal function supporting operational priorities within the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line, including services entities and subsidiaries such as The Resource Group, Medxcel, and various System Office functional areas.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and leading negotiations on contracts for supply chain and services needs.
  • Partnering with Ascension's subsidiary group purchasing organization, The Resource Group, on the negotiation of complex supply chain and services contracts and amendments.
  • Providing interpretive and practical advice regarding oversight and compliance requirements of the business, including applicable state and federal laws.
  • Supporting strategic contracting initiatives, such as outsourcing activities and complex enterprise contracts with strategic partners, e.g., TouchPoint, R1, and TriMedx.
  • Supporting and promoting legal initiatives and goals.
  • Keeping current with legal developments affecting the Shared Services and Commercial Law Service Line and incorporating such information into advice, counsel, and support for the organization.

Requirements
  • Attorney licensure obtained prior to hire or transfer date, relevant to the state of work.
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed, practicing attorney required.
