The City of Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department seeks an experienced supervisor to plan, organize and oversee athletic programs for adult leagues, golf courses and skating rinks. You will lead staff, schedule events and ensure safe, enjoyable programs for the community.

You will interpret rules, train instructors, manage budgets, and coordinate with schools and outside groups. This role demands independent judgment and strong organizational skills to maintain facilities and deliver

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in recreation, sports management or related field.
• Three years of recreation league management or daily operations experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist in managing operations of athletic facilities, including golf courses and rinks.
• Assist in organizing leagues for City of Syracuse golf courses and skating rinks.
• Interpret rules and regulations involving league athletics.
• Schedule clinics, lessons and tournaments at golf courses.
• Train staff on rules, safety procedures and program protocols.
• Help with home game management and supervision.
• Compile a master athletic schedule for practices, scrimmages, games and facility uses.
• Communicate with schools and outside groups regarding schedules.
• Oversee adult athletic programs and develop year‑round offerings.
• Supervise maintenance and budget development for Golf/Rinks division.
• Handle daily cash deposits, reports and journaling.
• Assist in hiring, training and supervising staff and instructors.
• Teach programs related to Golf or Rinks when needed.
• Order materials and equipment; manage procurement and inventory.

Formation

Associate's degree in recreation, sports management or related field

Three years of recreation league management experience
