Job summary

Syracuse City is seeking an Assistant Parks Operations Manager to oversee maintenance operations within the Parks Division, providing technical support to supervisory staff and performing skilled work on parks, facilities, fields, and aquatic features.

The role reports to the Parks Operations Manager, is full-time and non-exempt, with hours from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday and 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Friday on an alternating schedule. Duties include budgeting support and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Four years of related grounds and facilities maintenance experience, including one year in a supervisory role.
• Valid Utah Class D Driver's License.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, rotating 24-hour standby, and occasional on-call duty.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations within the Parks Division district.
• Supervise staff and contractors, coordinate work, and resolve issues.
• Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and cost monitoring.
• Ensure turf, landscape, irrigation, and facilities are maintained to standard.
