Job summary

SPG Therapy & Education is hiring for the 2026-2027 school year to provide Assistive Technology services for diverse student populations across general education, inclusion, and special education settings.

Must hold California OT/PT/SLP licenses or qualifying CTC credentials; engineering or rehab-focused degrees and ATP/AT certifications are preferred. Salary ranges from $82,000 to $120,000 based on the school-year calendar.

Qualifications

• Must have licensing as applicable in California (OT, PT, or SLP) or CTC credential for services
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Assistive Technology focus
• RESNA ATP certification or AT applications certificate preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide Assistive Technology services (assessments, recommendations, training) for school-aged students
• Coordinate AT solutions with students, families, staff and providers
• Collaborate in a team-based school setting and perform special projects as assigned

Job Responsibilities

Duties include providing Assistive Technology Services (assessments, recommendations, training, and coordination of assistive technology solutions) to a wide variety of school-aged students in both general education, inclusion and special education programs. Work in a collaborative approach to provide technical support and guidance with students, families, staff and related providers. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Must meet applicable SPG and school/district requirements, including fingerprint/background clearance and TB clearance, as applicable.

Years of experience, specialties, and geographic regions are all considered when determining salary offers.

Requirements

• Current California Occupational Therapy (OT) license
• Current California Physical Therapy (PT) license, when the Assistive Technology services provided fall within the scope of physical therapy practice
• Current California Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license or a valid California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) document authorizing the applicable services, when the Assistive Technology service involves augmentative communication
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Assistive Technology
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of Engineering plus a graduate certificate in Rehabilitation Technology or Assistive Technology
• RESNA Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification
• Certificate in Assistive Technology Applications from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
• A California credential authorizing special education of physically impaired, orthopedically impaired, or severely impaired pupils

Additional Requirements

• Experience providing Assistive Technology services in a school-based, educational, clinical, or related setting is preferred.
• Experience with assessment, selection, implementation, and/or training related to Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, related service providers, and other members of the educational team.
• Ability to provide training and technical assistance to students, families, school staff, and other professionals as appropriate.
