Job summary

Santa Rosa Junior College is expanding its pool of associate faculty for the Earth and Space Sciences Department. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time, or on-call, and may include evening, weekend, online, or hybrid formats on campus in Santa Rosa and Petaluma.

Compensation is hourly with placement based on qualifications and experience as per the AFA Contract. Benefits include medical insurance for eligible staff and pro-rated sick leave.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics; OR Bachelor’s in Physics or Astronomy AND Master’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Meteorology or Geophysics; OR the equivalent.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, including evening, weekend, online, or hybrid assignments.
• Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
• Maintain currency in field(s) of expertise and contribute to program development as needed.

Education
