Job summary

Ascension is recruiting for a Utilization/Case Management support role in Austin, TX. The selected candidate will assist in the case management process, obtain authorizations, document referrals, and coordinate patient transfers with payers and facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience; licensure can substitute education or experience where applicable. It offers a comprehensive benefits package and a stable nonprofit healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record authorizations for ancillary services and denial reporting.
• Facilitate, identify and document all referrals, along with patient choice, to appropriate facilities or agencies.
• Expedite discharges by transmitting appropriate documentation to providers for acceptance of patient.
• Document all interactions with payers and communicates status with appropriate staff.
• Communicate status with case management staff and arranges for patient transfer.
• Function as a key point of contact between case management staff, admissions and payers.
