Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction in Bertie County, NC seeks a Correctional Associate Warden to assist the Warden with total facility operations and to manage several critical functions for 24-hour operations. The role supervises Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, and officers, ensuring safety for inmates and staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with dawn-to-dusk oversight and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years supervisory experience in corrections or related work.
• Or high school diploma/GED and four years at or above the Correctional Lieutenant level.
• Equivalent education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of housing for male offenders at a close custody institution.
• Provide guidance and direction on prison policies.
• Direct supervision of Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Officers, and support staff.
• Prepare for, lead and support all facility audits.
• Cover for the Warden during extended absences.
