Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction, based in the Eastern Region Office in Greenville, NC, seeks a Corrections Associate Supt II to oversee security operations within the region and coordinate with facilities throughout the area.

Requires supervision experience, knowledge of prison policies, and the ability to manage inmate custody-related duties. Internal posting; benefits include state health, retirement plans, and leave options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years supervisory or administrative experience in corrections.
• Or high school/GED with four years experience at Correctional Lieutenant level.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the region’s tactical officer and PREA Compliance Manager.
• Coordinate with external inspectors, follow up on corrective actions, and ensure completion of required measures.
• Review correspondence and inquiries from offenders and offender family members.
• Review all death incident reports and PREA incident documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the Region Safety Compliance Officer.
• Conduct investigations as assigned by the Region Director.
• Supervise inmate workers assigned to the Region Office.
