Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Associate Warden to oversee Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC. The role involves directing custody operations, ensuring safe housing of male felon offenders, and reporting to the Warden.

You will coordinate food service, security measures, and offender movements for programs across multiple locations, with ~904 inmates under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three years of supervisory, administrative or consultative experience in corrections or related work.
• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five years of experience at or above the Correctional Lieutenant level.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Warden V in the management and operation of Granville Correctional Institution.
• Direct responsibility for the safe and secure housing of male felon offenders housed at the institution and must ensure the safety of staff and the general public.
• The Associate Warden manages the total custody section, including the food service operation and provides for the safety and security of the facility.
• Operational complexities are enhanced by considerable offender movement in support of a wide variety of programs, multiple locations, multiple populations and/or specialized services.
• This position reviews all incident reports, assigns and reviews internal investigations, conducts critical internal investigations, reviews offender requests and responds appropriately, and assures that the personnel resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of the facility.
• This facility houses and provides services for approximately 904 inmates, ages 19 - 25 in close-custody and inmates assigned to maximum control, intensive control, high security maximum control, disciplinary segregation and safekeeping status.
• This position reports directly to the Warden.
