Job summary

Jobtailor in Los Angeles seeks an engineer to support quoting, data organization, and technical documentation for complex customer programs, including BOMs, RFQs, and specs. You will assist cost-modeling, tool development, and supplier communications across the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or related technical field.
• 3–5 years in engineering/manufacturing roles; internships/co-ops count.
• Foundational knowledge of CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Wire Harness Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding.
• Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to interpret Manufacturing Drawings and GD&T.
• Strong organizational skills with data management in Excel/Sheets/ERP/CRM.
• Effective communication and teamwork; comfortable presenting in small groups.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight and willingness to learn the custom manufacturing industry.
• For US-based roles, E-Verify authorization is required after offer.

• Assist with supplier communication and tracking quality documents throughout the solution lifecycle from award through delivery
• Participate in cross-functional meetings connecting engineering, sales, and operations
• Lead a capstone mini-project to improve process efficiency, such as automating a quoting workflow, developing a reporting dashboard, or streamlining documentation
• Develop and demonstrate DFx best practices across manufacturing disciplines relevant to customers and partners
• Serve as a foundational resource for internal teams and external customers by supporting manufacturing solutions

Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, including internships or co-ops
• Foundational knowledge of CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Wire harness Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding
• Experience in CAD software; SolidWorks preferred
• Experience or coursework in interpreting Manufacturing Drawings and GD&T
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail managing multi-line data, such as Excel, Google Sheets, or ERP/CRM systems
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills
• Comfortable in technical discussions and presenting information to small groups
• Ability to manage assignments with minimal oversight
• Interest in learning the custom manufacturing industry
