Job summary

Indiana University Health—University Hospital is hiring a full-time Gift Shop Cashier to support patient programming through the Riley Cheer Guild and daily sales.

The role involves operating the cash register, handling cash, and delivering friendly, accurate service while maintaining merchandise displays. You may assist with tills, deposits, end-of-month reports, and stock, while lifting up to 50 lbs. Monday–Friday, 11:45am–8:15pm, with a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong math and reading skills.
• Ability to carry stock from storeroom to sales area.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to bend and lift 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Overview

This is a full-time, benefited position for 40 hours per week at University Hospital. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:45am to 8:15pm. Sales from the gift shop support patient programming through the Riley Cheer Guild.

Operates and maintains a cash register. Accepts and records money for sales. Maintains good customer relations while providing quick and accurate service. Maintains adequate merchandise on display for sale. May be required to count tills, make deposits, run monthly end reports or stock supplies as related to service area.

• Requires ability to communicate clearly with customers.
• Requires bending; and the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
