Job summary

Leidos in Framingham, MA is seeking an Associate Relay Settings Engineer to join our electric utility design team. You will work with protection engineers to prepare relay settings and create IEC61850 logic diagrams for 4.16kV to 500kV projects, collaborating with clients and remote offices on design and construction support.

This hybrid role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 0+ years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of creating relay settings and logic diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemens' CAPE for coordination studies and fault analysis.
• Basic knowledge of protective relay coordination studies.
• Ability to learn relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB.
• Familiarity with Schweitzer AcSELerator QuickSet, EnerVista and MiCOM is a plus.
• Strong engineering and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail and quality.
• Knowledge of implementing control and protection schemes and relay logic.

Responsibilities

• Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages.
• Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations.
• Interact with clients and staff in remote offices.
• Support project planning activities through design and construction.
• Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including points, diagrams, files and docs.
• Solve challenging substation engineering problems.
