Job summary

Dow in Prentiss, Alberta, Canada, is seeking an Associate Operator to run assigned equipment and support safe, efficient plant operations on a 12‑hour rotating schedule. You will work with a multi‑discipline team to monitor process conditions, perform maintenance, and contribute to incident investigations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Canadian 4th class Power Engineering certificate, and 2+ years in operations or related fields.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• ABSA 4th class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
• 2+ years of related (Operations, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical) work experience.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must have a current and valid Canadian Driver's license.
• Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
• Able to work legally in Canada; no visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Follow operating discipline to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Operate and field-check process equipment; monitor conditions and metrics.
• Perform scheduled tasks and resolve unplanned events.
• Work with shift teams to balance workload and meet due dates.
• Conduct effective shift relief and handoffs to incoming shift.
• Maintain qualifications and complete training goals.
• Mentor and train operations personnel on process operation.
• Perform Immediate Response activities and investigations.
• Track KPIs and optimize plant performance on shift.
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance and minor repairs.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team program.
