Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Iuka, MS, is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (level 1) or Manufacturing Engineer (level 2) to design and optimize manufacturing processes for assemblies, equipment installation, and production layouts.

The role involves arranging machines for efficient layouts, defining operation sequences, and ensuring quality with inspection, SPC methods, and regulatory compliance; requires STEM degree and U.S. citizenship for clearance.

Qualifications

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027
• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
• Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027 or is completing their Bachelor's degree and 2 years of engineering experience
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
• Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
