Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Associate Manager of Environmental/PSM to lead environmental programs and process safety at the plant. You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, drive continuous improvement, coordinate ISO 14001 efforts, and oversee training for staff in OSHA and environmental regimes.

You will report on KPIs, manage documentation, and lead a safety-focused team in a dynamic plant environment, with occasional travel and on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or related field; 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Experience leading others, training or mentoring staff.
• Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure and lead emergency response.
• Occasional long hours, weekends and on-call status when required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental programs (EMS) and PSM at the plant to meet regulatory and company standards.
• Maintain and improve the EMS program, coordinate ISO 14001 certification and documentation.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of Environmental/PSM processes and KPI tracking.
• Coordinate training for production and management staff per OSHA and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and coaching to foster a positive work environment.
