Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking an Associate Manager of Environmental/PSM to oversee environmental programs and process safety at the Arnold plant. You will ensure compliance with EMS/PSM, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinate audits and certification activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Limited travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff or managing a project.
• Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure, including leading emergency response.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work long hours including on-call status.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental programs, EMS and PSM to meet regulatory and company standards.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of Environmental/PSM processes.
• Maintain EMS program and assist internal audits; coordinate ISO 14001 and documentation control.
• Provide training to production and management staff in OSHA, environmental permits and response programs.
• Lead and coach teams to sustain safety culture and drive performance improvements.
