Job summary

Smithfield Foods seeks a Sr. Distribution PSM Manager to drive our Process Safety Management program across locations. You will develop, implement, and communicate strategies to keep operations safe and compliant, managing emergency documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Deliver strong leadership to build a culture of safety in distribution. You will lead audits, PHAs, and continuous improvement of processes and equipment, while coordinating with third-party auditors and training

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field and 8+ years of PSM management responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.
Previous Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration experience.
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with emphasis on PSM.
Extensive knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies, e.g. HAZOP, What If.

Responsibilities

Create, support, and implement strategies to strengthen PSM compliance across all locations.
Determine applicability of current and pending rules related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Partner with plant personnel to manage all aspects of PSM and ensure compliance.
Coordinate with third-party PSM auditors and ensure accurate reporting.
Develop and evaluate process and equipment improvements to maximize safety and efficiency.
Enforce PSM auditing schedules, PHA reviews, and Mechanical Integrity testing.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions after releases; ensure trained contractors.
