Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Associate Manager of Environmental/PSM to lead environmental management and process safety programs at the plant. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving sustainability and safety initiatives.

You will oversee EMS and PSM program maintenance, coordinate ISO 14001 efforts, train production and management staff, and lead continuous improvement through KPI tracking and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or related field and 3+ years relevant experience.
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
• Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure including leading emergency response efforts.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and on-call status.
• Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EMS and PSM programs to meet regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement for Environmental/PSM.
• Coordinate ISO 14001 certification and audits.
• Provide training to production and management staff.
