Job summary

IU Health West Hospital in Avon, NY is seeking a Part-Time Nutrition Services worker on a rotating shift to support patient meals and food service operations.

You will prepare, plate, serve, and transport meals, maintain sanitation, and follow infection control practices to ensure safe, high-quality patient and staff meals.

Qualifications

  • Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Must wear protective equipment/clothing as required by environment/regulations.
  • Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods and lifting up to 80% of the time (up to 35 lbs to 80% of shifts).

Overview

Schedule: Part Time Rotating Shift (supplemental hours 0-24 weekly, may vary)

Work Location: West Hospital (Onsite)

Department Supported: Nutrition Services

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public. Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service. Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety. Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
  • Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
  • Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Candidate Preferred:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
