Job summary

TIAA is seeking an Associate Financial Consultant to provide financial planning via phone and video chat to participants, new entrants, prospects, and beneficiaries, covering pension plans and investment options. The role includes training during the initial period and a transition from non-exempt hourly pay with overtime to exempt salaried status after training.

Qualifications

• University degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Licenses/certifications: Life and Health Insurance License (Resident State) – Multiple Issuers required within 120 days.
• FINRA registrations: Series 7 and Series 63.

Responsibilities

• Answers participant questions on pension plans, tax-deferred annuities and other investment options to help clients retain and grow assets.
• Educates and facilitates product purchases (mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529/403b, bank products, life insurance) and provides information for personal financial planning decisions.
• Interacts with retirement plan participants to provide customer service and execute transactions and service requests.
• Uses knowledge of tax and investment strategies to provide financial advice based on clients' needs and objectives.
• Collaborates with cross-business partnerships to support clients and initiatives.
• Develops and maintains relationships with Institutional Plan Sponsors.
