Qualifications

• 5+ years in healthcare revenue cycle management including self-pay operations, insurance A/R, patient billing, or third-party collections/vendor operations.
• 3+ years leading a team of 8+ FTEs with staffing, training and performance management.
• 2+ years overseeing third-party collection agencies or billing vendors with SLAs and scorecards.
• Experience managing self-pay and/or insurance A/R inventory including placement logic, aging, recalls, and reconciliation.
• Monthly/quarterly performance reporting to clients or executive stakeholders.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., AB1020, FDCPA, DoD rules).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to build and maintain trend reports with pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house Self-Pay Pre-Bill Intervention and collections teams; scale operations from pilot cohorts to steady-state.
• Own contact center performance for insourced teams; partner with WFM on capacity, staffing transitions, and KPI benchmarks.
• Drive cash acceleration and focus on high-propensity-to-pay accounts within 60 days of billing.
• Manage end-to-end self-pay A/R inventory; ensure proper aging, recalls, and reconciliations across host systems.
• Track cash performance and liquidation-rate metrics; quantify financial impact of insourcing vs vendor placement.
• Escalation management and root-cause analysis for insourced accounts; drive timely resolutions.
• Lead monthly/quarterly vendor reviews; ensure SLAs are met and corrective actions are implemented.
