Job summary

Humana is seeking an Associate Director, Segment Quality Engineering to lead quality engineering across a defined set of applications and agile teams. You will coach QE leaders and engineers, implement standards, and drive automation in CI/CD pipelines to improve release readiness and production stability.

The role partners with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and enterprise quality teams to embed quality throughout the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with industry experience
• 8+ years in software/quality engineering roles
• 3+ years leading QA/test/engineering delivery teams in enterprise environments
• Experience leading QA across multiple agile teams or complex apps
• Hands-on with enterprise quality tools, test automation, and lifecycle tools
• Proven track record improving QA practices, automation, and metrics-based execution
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration across product, engineering, and ops teams
• Experience in matrixed organizations and coordinating distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering execution for defined applications, products, or teams
• Coach and develop QE leaders, engineers, and SDETs
• Implement QE standards, practices, and governance
• Drive quality planning and execution across test activities
• Partner with engineering and product to embed quality in planning and design
• Oversee defect management, triage, and corrective actions
• Support release readiness assessments and validation for deployments
• Advance automation adoption and regression coverage
• Integrate automated validations into CI/CD pipelines
• Coordinate non-functional quality activities (performance, resiliency, security)
• Monitor quality metrics and delivery trends; identify risks
• Escalate portfolio risks and capacity constraints to leadership
• Contribute to QE modernization with enterprise tools and reusable frameworks
• Promote AI-enabled QE and innovative practices for speed and reliability
• Ensure responsible AI adoption and compliance with security/privacy standards
