Job summary

Humana seeks a hands-on Segment Quality Engineer Lead to drive quality across products and delivery initiatives. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and QE leaders to embed testing, automation, and validation throughout the SDLC.

You will design automation strategies, build assets across API/UI/integration, and guide teams in risk-based testing, release readiness, and performance validation, while mentoring engineers and shaping reusable QE patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, test automation, or related disciplines.
• Senior or lead quality engineering on complex technology projects or enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing automated tests across API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end.
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD delivery models.
• Solid understanding of software quality engineering principles, defect lifecycle, and release validation.
• Experience with modern testing tools and engineering lifecycle platforms.
• Ability to lead technical quality efforts across multiple teams while staying hands-on.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in matrixed environments with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on quality engineering lead for complex projects and programs.
• Lead end-to-end quality engineering activities including test planning and release validation.
• Design and maintain automated test assets across API, UI, integration, and regression layers.
• Embed automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Provide leadership on test architecture and data strategies for distributed systems.
• Coordinate QE execution across multiple agile teams for aligned coverage.
• Support non-functional validation such as performance and security testing.
• Mentor engineers on QE tools, practices, and automation patterns.
• Identify opportunities to improve test reliability and reduce manual effort.
