Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director, Portfolio Insights to drive high-impact strategic projects across Therapeutic Areas and to lead cross-functional analytics for portfolio decisions. The role will build value metrics, oversee QPP enhancements, and mentor teams to adopt data-driven decision-making.

You will partner with TA leadership, Finance, and R&D to deliver actionable insights, improve productivity benchmarking, and influence senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field required; advanced degree highly preferred.
• 6+ years with a Bachelor’s, 4+ with a Master’s, or 2+ with a Doctorate.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Pharma R&D processes and forecasting.
• Experience in management consulting, with a track record in R&D strategy / portfolio prioritization.
• High level of executive presence and ability to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-priority 2026 strategic initiatives and enhance the Quarterly Portfolio Prioritization process.
• Modernize valuation methodologies with AI/ML-driven PTRS approaches.
• Benchmark R&D productivity and translate findings into actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Flex across portfolio to conduct ad-hoc analyses, scenario planning, and strategic projects.
• Develop executive narratives for senior leadership and monthly Portfolio Review Forum and Long Range Planning.
• Build data-driven capabilities and socialize value across TA leadership.
• Create value metrics and test assumptions with stakeholders such as Finance and PPM.
• Support dashboards for interrogating the R&D portfolio and exploring new use cases.
