Job summary

RTX in East Hartford, CT is seeking a senior leader for the Discipline program in high-temperature alloy development. You will guide long-term technology roadmaps, manage a skilled engineering team, and align resources to meet aggressive engine design and sustainment goals.

The role requires a BS in a technical field with 12+ years, an advanced degree, US citizenship, strong communication, and collaboration across teams. Travel ~10% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in technical/engineering discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree with 10+ years of work experience in technical engineering fields.
• Ability to build positive relationships within and across teams.
• Strong communication skills and high motivation.
• US Citizenship due to government programs requirements.

Responsibilities

• Guide the strategic vision for Discipline including long-term technology roadmaps and funding.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in high-temperature alloy development for engines.
• Set project priorities, allocate resources, and ensure objectives are met on schedule.
• Provide mentorship on risk management and decision making.
• Attract and develop talent for next generation of alloy engineers.
• Hire, develop and retain talent through coaching and development.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers and peers.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency in the work area.
• Provide field and production support to meet business needs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor technical work for completeness and accuracy.
• Travel 10%.
