Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, seeks a motivated Principal Project Engineer to lead Materials Engineering projects in an onsite role in the United States. You will guide cradle-to-delivery scope, risks, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver on-cost and on-schedule outcomes.

You will mentor early-career professionals, manage $500K+ projects, develop reports with CPI/SPI/EAC metrics, and align schedules with the Work Breakdown Structure.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 8+ years experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• Proficient in MS Project, including resource loading, critical path analysis, and earned value management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Materials Engineering project scope and schedules from cradle to first delivery.
• Lead multiple medium to large projects ($500K+) delivering on-cost, on-schedule and on-technical execution.
• Manage project risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Prepare progress reports and key project performance metrics including CPI/SPI/EAC.
• Support vendor/supplier/contractor oversight, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Provide regular status updates to leadership, sponsors, customers and stakeholders.
