$81.00/hr - $85.00/hr

Shifts: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Nursing will work under the guidance of the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance, quality, and continuity of resident care. This leadership role will act as the Director’s representative when needed and contribute significantly to care strategies, staffing, compliance, and performance improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing policies and procedures for resident care.
  • Communicate policies and procedures clearly to staff, residents, families, and the wider community.
  • Participate in staffing assessments, schedule planning, and coordination of care services across disciplines.
  • Monitor supply use, manage budgets, and support cost-effective practices.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support preparation for regulatory surveys (e.g., NYSDOH).
  • Conduct and present investigations on suspected abuse, neglect, or care concerns.
  • Provide clinical insight during interdisciplinary care meetings.
  • Monitor performance of Nurse Managers and Nursing Care Coordinators, conducting evaluations as needed.
  • Make regular facility rounds to assess care quality and policy compliance.
  • Support staff development by identifying learning needs and working with the Staff Education team.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Must hold a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Education: Master’s in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in nursing administration.
  • Demonstrated competence in caring for individuals with AIDS.
  • Knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) required.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage staff and navigate complex care situations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations in long-term care.
