Refrigeration Digital Solutions builds solutions that are connecting the cold chain to improve the process of safely shipping and storing food and critical medical supplies at a global scale. A cold chain is a temperature-controlled supply chain comprised of refrigerated transport, storage, and monitoring solutions to safely and effectively deliver temperature sensitive goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, etc. Our customers face a variety of challenges not limited to rising costs, inefficiencies, and capacity constraints, and are looking to technology and solution partners to help connect their cold chain, optimize their logistics and improve the performance of their fleets and assets - the core mission of Carrier’s Refrigeration Digital Solutions team and the value proposition of our LYNX platform.



About the role

As the Director, Portfolio and Program Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of activities in support of solutions and initiatives related to the LYNX platform. You will ensure alignment of the portfolio with overall Refrigeration business goals. While focusing on multiple, related and dependent activities, you will encourage strong, cross-functional communication across the entire program.

This role will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling resources for Digital projects to achieve objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports. Provides technical guidance to the project team. May utilize Scrum methodologies to deliver project requirements. Leads large teams of Digital resources through complex transformational projects. Owns and accountable for cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a project management framework in line with strategic objectives.
  • Direct and control the delivery of programs and projects across the LYNX platform workstream.
  • Establish and promote the use of metrics to improve program effectiveness.
  • Implement and direct structured processes to monitor the progress of programs and projects.
  • Own the LYNX project portfolio partnering closely with engineering and product management teams to identify appropriate prioritization in delivering on our global roadmaps.
  • Provides governance across LYNX, including milestones, resources, and budgeting.
  • Work with cross-functional organizations and ensure alignment across work streams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and remove roadblocks within work streams.
  • Drive follow-up efforts among stakeholders to ensure progress against key milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop reports for senior leadership and other business/technical partners on program decisions, status, and risks.
  • Drive skill and personal development of PMO staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years proven experience in Program Management using the best practices of Project Management in the software and/or hardware engineering field
  • 5+ years team management experience of co-located, remote, and nearshore/offshore teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean, Agile, iterative development
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Project management certification (PMP)
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment where not all processes and procedures are clearly defined. Agility to change directions quickly as needed.
  • Experience of working cross-functionally across multiple global teams and building consensus
  • Experience of establishing and analyzing metrics and key performance indicators to manage the business
  • Ability to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and develop and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects
  • Experience driving overall strategy and teams across organizations

Additional information

  • Travel up to 25% on an as needed basis

Pay Range:

$133,319 - $232,919 Annually
